Why study Portuguese in Feira de Santana?

Feira de Santana is the second most populous and the second largest city in Bahia, Brazil. Feira de Santana also is an important stopping point for travelers, containing a major junction of Northeastern Brazil's highways. It is an important and diverse commercial and industrial center, with affordable cost of leaving and it is close to Salvador, the capital of Bahia and the former colonial capital of Brazil.  Feira de Santana's important geographic location and the hospitality of its people continues to attract new residents. Feira de Santana is famous for its parties and festivals, such as Senhora Sant'Ana in the last week of July (26 July), which features activities such as bumba-meu-boi, segura-a-véia and burrinha. Students have the opportunity to participate in cultural activities such as weekend guide tours to the city of Cachoeira, a national monument of the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico Artístico e Nacional (IPHAN) and to Salvador.

Portuguese courses:

With the Intensive Portuguese Language Summer Program, students have the opportunity to take Portuguese language and culture classes (elementary, intermediate and advanced levels) taught by the Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana faculty. We expect our students to develop communicative competences that leads them to oral and written proficiency in Portuguese.
